      • Ted served with the Canadian Army in Europe during World War II. Upon his return in 1945, he began a thirty-three year career with A.G.T. (Telus). Ted was actively involved in the community, having assisted with the Nickle Foundation and Y.M.C.A. special needs children's swimming programs and after retirement, organizing and remaining a volunteer with C.N.I.B.'s Talking Books Repair Program. He also contributed his time and skills to the United Church and took great pleasure in serving on the board of directors for his condominium association. Ted was best known for his keen sense of humour and his amazing ability to fix anything for his friends and family. A celebration of Ted's life was held at St. Matthew's United Church, Calgary, AB on June 13, 2002.
