  Charles moved to Vancouver at an early age, becoming employed with the Vancouver Milling & Gr ain Co. In 1909 he was transferred to Calgary and placed in charge of its office here. Fiv e years later he joined the Alberta Pacific Grain Co. and subsequently became manager of tha t concern. In 1926 he joind the Alberta Wheat Pool as general manager of pool elev- ators . Four years later he resigned, and the same year joined the Coal Producers Ltd. and Coal S ellers Ltd. as president of both companies.
