Notes |
- Bill spent most of his life working in the oil industry as a production accountant. Even in his later years, he was an expert swimmer. As a youth, he was an active member of the YMCA . He was a founding member of the Calgary Swimming Club. He also was a founding member of Riverview United Church and served as their first Sunday School Superintendent. After building in Elboya in 1947, he was active in forming the Elboya Community Association and served as President for several years. He was kind with an "earthy" sense of humour. Dorothy moved to Canada with her family as an infant and homesteaded in the Jenner district. Moved to Calgary in 1925 and attended high school and business college. Her career spanned 40 years in the oil industry. She played the piano by ear and could sing harmony at the same time . With only grade 11, she tutored many neighbourhood children in math. She was a founding member of Riverview United Church and sang in the choir for over 32 years.
