      The National Archives holds a form about a photograph that was taken by John in 1896. It was a dress shield filled with liquid. He was a china shop keeper in 1901. John moved to Egypt for health reasons. The first press reports that he was killed by Beduin. Later a brief article retracting this, stating it may have been an accident. Emma moved to Australia to join her sister with her younger children. She was living in Coolangatta, Queensland, Australia in 1915. By March 1926 she was living in Rockhampton, Queensland.
